I made some awesome chicken, bacon, onion, 4 cheese pizza last night ad took the leftovers to work, but we only have a microwave, now my awesome pizza is mushy, and I have a sad / Rant.

AWW what?! No toaster either? If you do, I'd put that toaster on the side and stick in the pizza (if it fits, if it doesn't work around it lol).

You...you don't eat your pizza cold? What the hell am I fucking reading!?

I would eat it cold before putting it in the microwave. I have heard that a frying pan is the best way to reheat pizza. I use the toaster oven.
I remember when the microwave first hit the scene. They were hailed as the greatest cooking innovation since the discovery of fire. We had a huge Amana model with an analog dial timer and power selector. We tried to cook everything in it, and for the most part, everything sucked. I have a fancy microwave now, and I use it for heating canned vegetables and soup, thawing ground beef, making bacon (Costco's microwave bacon is awesome), and popcorn. Lots of popcorn.

Kinda sounds like microwave after a while

Stupid science ovens..... (If you've scene American Hustle)

I like leftover pizza to be warmed. But even 30 seconds in the microwave has destroyed it.

Nope! no toaster, no hot plate, no waffle iron. just crappy microwaves
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:14 |

I toaster oven all my left over pizza

Lol. When I bought my house I put all new expensive stainless steel appliances in, including a rather pricey microwave, which I never use other than to occasionally heat a glass of water for quick tea.
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:16 |

Isn't there some trick to avoiding thing? Like putting a glass of water in the microwave with it?
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:17 |

I do too. If only I had a toaster oven...
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:18 |

Yeah, microwaved leftover pizza is terrible. I use a non-stick skillet over medium heat on the stove. Bottom side down first, then when nicely browned, flip it over with top side down and brown the cheese.............yum. I like it better when it's reheated this way.

I have been eating cold or microwave food for 4 months now, because I'm not allowed to leave for lunch

If only I had a glass (seriously though, never heard of this)

Keep one at your desk, I'm sure they won't mind lol

If only I had a skillet, or a stove.
Hell I would even take a lighter...
Maybe its time for me to find a new job with a better break room...

WHAT!! I believe that there is a law against that in NV.
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:21 |

Me too!
I've been considering getting rid of it for the sake of more cabinetry, but resale value

I did that at my old job, it was hilarious. Half my desk was for work, the rest was my own personal kitchen. I stuck an old mini fridge under the desk and had a george foreman grill and a toaster above it...

I will always eat pizza (and just about everything else) cold if my only heating option is a microwave. Gross. Sorry to hear about your pizza.
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:23 |

Exactly. And you know the second it is not there you will need it for something. like melting butter...
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:25 |

Most important thing to look for at new job..............better break room! LOL!
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:25 |

Don't quote me on that lol, I just *think* that is the trick. For all I know you could go from mushy pizza into soup

Yeah, those stupid little things are the only use it gets. I honestly rarely even nuke water any more, my Keurig spits it out at the right temp :)
Also microwave popcorn is shit compared to the awesomeness that is making your own damn popcorn on the stove and seasoning it to your likes

That's awesome! I brought my waffle iron in once, but that was just for an Xmas brunch.

Pizza soup... Hrmm. I like where your heads at but I am not sure how it will play out.

I haven't made popcorn like that since I was a kid! not that I eat popcorn really at all, ever.
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:34 |

I make it like that all the time. Popcorn is one of my most favorite things! Just like my meals, I love to experiment with flavor combinations and different textures to see what is awesome. I make a mean cheddar jalapeno popcorn

Wait a minute, this is Oppo, right!? What the hell man?
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:44 |

The correct answer is waffle iron .
![]() 01/28/2014 at 14:58 |

Alas, I do not have a waffle iron either.

It's clear that you know shit of microwave cooking: microwave is the single dude's best friend... only second to his right palm! I can cook almost everything, in my 820 watts turntable mw... from steaks, to pasta al sugo to a fantastic 4 eggs omelette with mushrooms, that I've just invented. And I wisk the eggs in my Martini shaker! But what you know...

Mushy and zero nutritional value. Here's why I don't use microwaves.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

You need to microwave it longer and it'll be a bit more crispy. Still not like out of the oven, but better than mushy.
![]() 01/29/2014 at 10:25 |

Try bringing in cooked cabbage and/or fish to reheat and you'll soon see that policy reversed.
![]() 01/29/2014 at 10:29 |

Understanding how they work means you can understand what can and can't be cooked in a microwave. They excite only the (liquid) water molecules to a higher temperature state, which means a microwave can be a good replacement for steaming or boiling, but not for frying or baking.

Yes. I forgot to mention that I line to steam broccoli and cauliflower in the micro.

There def is. But I'm on salary and "We all have to make sacrifices" says the boss man. Aka why I'm ready to leave

I would be in the same boat then. I tend to work through my lunch breaks here because it does not bother me, but if I need to go run an errand during my 30 min, no one is telling me otherwise.

wet a paper towel lightly, wring all the water out you can without destroying said paper towel, place a couple slices on plate cover with paper towel microwave as usual enjoy the pizza
